Hi,
We've got a 109 Series 2a that we are restoring and it runs 9.00x16's. Currently rebuilding the steering box and the inner column has too much damage on the worm. The 1 ton steering boxes have a lower ratio. So the question is can I fit a 1 ton inner steering column in to a standard series 2a steering box? Or do the 1 ton boxes have other special bits in them?
Thanks
Ed
1 Ton Steering Column in Standard Steering box?
Re: 1 Ton Steering Column in Standard Steering box?

According to the parts book the inner cloumn and the main Nut are one unit. Makes sense because the pitch of the column and the pitch of the main nut need to match.
But other than that there seems to be no difference. Neither in the "Steering box and drop arm" nor in the "Steering column" section of the Parts book.
Best regards
Alex

Thanks Alex. That is very helpful.
I can find a 2a inner column for sale, will have to see if I can find a matching main nut to go with it.
Cheers
