NEW IIa FC OWNER NORTH WALES

Postby lanceley » Sun Apr 14, 2013 8:23 pm

Hi,
I’ve just acquired an early IIa Forward Control, chassis number 28. Vehicle is in project condition and has been stored for many years but is complete and my intention is a leisurely rebuild to original condition without going over the top. First tasks are some chassis welding and bulk head / door bottom repairs.

Couple of photos of the collection and delivery below.

Based near Caernarfon in North Wales. I know there is a yellow 101 close by but any other FC’s in the area?

You made it in then!

Excellent looking project you have there, have you thought much as to how it'll finally turn out? I'd guess a 2.25 petrol in a decent colour? Or perhaps something more exotic like a 2.5?

Am I right in thinking the red 110 in the last picture is the one chronicled in LRM being built up by Les Roberts?

Yes, made it, not too difficult a process.

Plan is to retain the original 2.25 engine and repaint in the original grey.

Don’t know about the red 110, photo was taken collecting the vehicle from its previous owner. Other photos delivering to my garage.
