Recently acquired
I reside in SA and have recently acquired what I think is a series 111 landrover. The only number I can find is 22200015g. It has a 4 cylinder diesel motor with a turbo. I have had to replace the turbo, but the injector pump has malfunctioned, the engine runs away on start up. The guy's that have tried work on it say they can't get any parts. Any idea where I can find a replacement pump?

Re: Recently acquired
Knowing what the engine is would help?
Is it a Land Rover lump, or something more exotic?

Welcome to this forum from another Saffer.
Please give more details about the current diesel motor, and some pics.
You have one of apparently only 3 1-Ton Land Rovers that came to South Africa.

Re: Recently acquired
Yup that's a genuine 1-Ton alright - although the diesel engine would not have been there originally. Any chance of some photos?

Re: Recently acquired
Very interesting, you at least still have the correct wheels. The modifications to the rear tub will probably be due to the fire tender conversion. I am not 100% sure about the engine but it looks like the Land Rover 2.5TD, although I suspect someone more knowledgeable will know more.

Re: Recently acquired
Yup, definitely a 2.5 Turbo engine, the turbo itself looks surprisingly fresh...

Re: Recently acquired
thanks for the info, the turbo has been redone, so where do I look for a working injector pump. Are their any other injector pumps that would work on this engine?

Re: Recently acquired
A internet search has reflected the following spec on the 2.5 turbo:
Layout: 4-cylinder, in-line
Block/head: Cast iron/cast iron
Valves: OHV, belt-driven camshaft, push-rod operated
Capacity: 2,495 cc (152.3 cu in)
Bore × stroke: 90.47 mm × 97 mm (3.562 in × 3.819 in)
Compression ratio: 21:1
Fuel injection: Lucas-CAV DPS rotary pump and CAV Pintaux injectors
Induction: Garrett T2 turbocharger
Power: 85 hp (63 kW) @ 4,250 rpm
Torque: 150 lbf·ft (200 N·m) @ 1,800 rpm
Production: 1986–1989
Used in: Land Rover Ninety/One Ten/127 and Land Rover Llama prototype.
Can somebody please confirm that this is correct, thanks.
