Hello,
Considering some new tyres and have seen some 900x16 michelin XS, h does anyone use these? I've heard they don't wear too well and are a bit lively in the wet Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Lucky if you’ve found some new(ish) ones!! I have 4 which seem to have worn fairly well, but not found a spare...
I used to use them lots on a 2A bonnet control as 7.50x16 and yes they are “lively” in the wet, but then Landies don’t exactly corner like they’re on rails.... so depends how you drive!
As a 9.00 they are larger and better behaved than bar grips....

Michelin have historically been the king of LR tyres.

The XS is a sand compound tyre. And if they're old... which they almost definitely will be.... on tarmac they could keep you on your toes.

Check the date-code. For playing around, over serious everyday, they'll be fine. But almost definitely only good for that.

When you could get them, and now you can't, XZY were king. 80,000 miles no sweat. Today, in 7.50 you have to take XZL, and they're not the all-rounder of XZY.

I'm afraid, with XZL being the exception, all these variants are out of production, and getting very old. I don't want to spoil any giddy-up, yet your XS must be 15 years old - at least.

As long as you're aware of the er... limitations, and you got 'em cheap, I say - carry on.
