When we took Titch to Brookland's on new years day, I had a gentleman come up to me and offered to send me a Rover brochure that he believed was for a FC, its arrived, although its for a 2A ( Titch is a 2B) its very interesting, did anybody know that you could have a full tilt on a FC as its in this publication.

Do you mean a canvas that comes over the cab? I knew this was tried out on prototypes but I don't know if it actually went into production.

The picture shows a canvas over the driver and as its taken from the left at an angle looking forward you can see it has no cab back , its just open ! the brochure offers this set up in the wording so it must have been available , nice present from the gentlemen and he wanted no money for it . Next event I know you are at I will bring it for you to see .

Yes some prototypes did have canvas truck cab type things similar to some 80" series 1s but I don't think it survived into production...

I wouldn't have said so. Quite a few of the brochures and press photos etc feature vehicles with unusual or prototype features. Land Rover produced the first 1-Ton brochure using a six pot 109" with wooden blocks under the chassis just to get photos, the vehicle in the pics did not match any that was actually produced. Ditto things like series IIs with body colour rims and series 1 rear axles. They also tended to change specifications at the eleventh hour. The release in the service bulletins about the 1-Tons for example says they could be had with the 2.25 petrol engine, but then none were made and all had the six pot (aside from the MOD of course). Who knows why this was the case...
