This post has got me going through all my deep dish wheels....
569204 - I gather these are relatively rare? What are they off originally? I have 7 of these as thought they'd be spare/right number for my 2a FC - but maybe not. Haven't been able to clean the paint off my 2a wheels yet to see what is actually fitted.
569203 - have 3 of these (might sell 2). 1 is heavily rusted so may become a Wall feature.
534384. This has a part number only, and no other markings. Rim profile is slightly different as well. Anyone know what it's off?
Then I think 12x ANR1534 is enough...

Is this a correct "erroneous" Type 7 Pressing C rim? The deepset is 72mm, not 78mm.
Cheers.

That looks to be a 569204 mis-stamped with XXXX over and then the correct 4 over the 3.

Agreed. The buyer's guide says they should be 78mm deepset. I have seen several of these now and they are all 72mm.

Are you sure? Which pressing?
You may have found yet another variant. Many more fixate on numbers... best be minded, when you say 'these' which do you mean? There's more than one pressing with more than one number. Better you speak of pressings. Read the thread, you'll know numbers help; yet on their own, mean little.
You are correct, the guide is also correct. The buyer's guide says they should be 78mm deepset. I have seen several of these now and they are all 72mm.

I admit, "these" is not a very precise or helpful term given the subject matter under discussionfuckwit wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 1:45 pmAre you sure? Which pressing?

By "these" I am referring exclusively to the "erroneous" Type 7 Pressing C rim.
I have now found several of "these" rims, all of them have a deepset of 72-73mm. Here's another ...

Don't come on here as often. Seems you might have yet another variant. Might add or lump it in with others.
I think it's fair to conclude:
They're not truly 569203, if there is, or ever was such a thing? More evidence of what was going on at the time. Stamping errors, random anomalies and straight f*ck-ups. I'm always left aghast at how grown-men are still green enough to have us believe there were board-meetings to discuss such changes, and everything can be found in a neat and tidy part number.
In the real world, it's clear, LR fitted what was there. Fred had these in stores, and that's what went down the line until they were gone. Why would they look? Lest we mention, his Missus does a lovely Shepherd's Pie.
What we see here is not as deep, and maybe not the best. Desirable nonetheless. I'd be glad to have them.

My understanding is there were always at least two variants of "proper" 203s anyway, which would have been in imperial measurements and were in any case very "approximate". I've even got rims that are not "square" from the factory.
Anyone thinking there is "**.*mm" difference in these rims is absolutely deluded. It could be pretty much anything so long as it looked right at the manufacturers.

If the rims were build to a specified accuracy which I doubt. It would probably be 3/16 to 1/4in so measuring in mm to sub 1/8in is pretty pointless.
I suspect they were built in jigs that wore over time hence the range of measurements found today.
