Newbie from Aberdeenshire

Good Morning,

My name is Richard Lines and my main interest in Land-Rovers has been 80". I am the ex-owner of pre-production R16 and the current owner of the only working Mobile Welder, a 1950 model. I also have a 1957 88" fitted with a Turner L60 diesel engine.

I would like to own a FCIIA/ B although I can't really say why as my better half would rather to the route of a 'proper' FC i.e. a V8 engined 101.

I've joined the forum to get to know something about the vehicles as my speciality is 80" to date.

Regards

Richard

Welcome Richard. I recall reading about your vehicles over the years. Any questions you may have, please ask and we will do our best to help you. :DD

Welcome along. We're very enthusiastic about Forward Controls here, so hopefully you'll find plenty of interesting reading.

I suspect the best plan would be to have both a 101 and a IIB, as you don't have to choose a favourite, and having owned examples of both (and driven quite a few more) I know it's quite a difficult choice.

Anyways, feel free to join in the conversation, you can probably tell we try not to take ourselves too seriously.

Richard, Welcome.

I have attached a photograph of my collection which might give you some inspiration....I by chance stumbled across my FC, but since owning can't quite work out why I didn't buy one years ago....

Good luck with your decision making.

Regards
