Hello. Have just registered again, so thought I would introduce myself back to the forum members.

Having been a landrover owner for many years, of all shapes and sizes, I finally succumbed to the charms of a 2a Forward Control....I have just commenced works on chassis restoration although this is slow going with the current dark evenings and cold weather.

I previously owned a Series 3 1 Ton (number 42 if I remember correctly). My collection has been severly reduced over the years and currently make do with my 1950 80", 1963 2a FC and my 2007 110 XS DC.

As for Series 3, 1 Ton 42a, from memory I owned around 2006/2007 - rescued from a farmer friend who thought weighing it in to the scrap man was the way to go.

I think 42A is stil out there, a chap on the old forum had it but didn't post very much...

Unfortunately the winch has been removed sometime prior to my ownership...just a few tell tale signs such as the bumper and rope guide 'pig tails' on the chassis remain.

I've plenty pictures of an original installation should you want to try and replicate it with an electric one.

Also, is it just me or does the panel fit on the 80" and the FC look better than the 110?
