Best thing to do is keep your eye on the vehicles for sale section, Ebay etc. One tons don’t come up much, and they seem to be a bit pricy when they do. Have you seen this sticky

It really does depend if the seller knows what it is (or cares) if they don't it is quite possible to get a 1-Ton fairly cheaply, although it would probably be a resto project rather than an on the road vehicle.
